Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Another trappy heat this, with preference for CHJIMES ahead of Qadar and Fromsong, but none of the six scheduled runners can be immediately discounted, with them all previous course and distance winners. The selection is chasing his fourth win in five runs, and absolutely loves it round here. He's usually settled just off the pace, which many have found to be the key to success here. Qadar's not won here for more than two years, but is now racing off his lowest ever mark so is competitive. Like the selection, he may be held up early on. A first time eyeshield may help. Fromsong has finished behind Chjimes in his last two outings, and any mistake by the selection could be punished, but we're happy to stick with Conor Dore's only runner on the card, and that's Chjimes.
