Verdict

Dont Call Me Derek caught the eye in defeat behind Intriguing Glimpse over course and distance last time and is taken to score at the main expense of After All and Pregnant Pause. The last mentioned is held by the selection on a line through Intriguing Glimpse, while After All finished a length behind Dont Call Me Derek last time. The Stuart Williams-trained gelding, who was making only his second start on a racecourse in that contest, was slowly away and held up some way off the pace but made good late headway without ever being asked a serious question and it will be a surprise if there is not a lot more to come from the son of Sri Pekan. Nick Littmoden's Docklands Blue has shown only a modicum of ability so far but still makes more appeal than the moderate Princess Kai but this should go to Dont Call Me Derek, who gets the vote.
