Verdict

Hucking Heat showed improved form to score last time out and is taken to continue his progression and win today at the main expense of Alfresco, Ballyshane Spirit and Blue Monkey. John Best's gelding swooped late to conquer a well-fancied Jamie Osbourne runner ten days ago and as he seems to be progressing well, he may be worth siding with in what looks an open contest. Blue Monkey is very consistent but as he has failed to win a maiden yet, it would be surprising were he to be good enough to take this handicap. Alfresco won well over course and distance last time out in first-time blinkers and rates a danger today. However it remains to be seen whether the headgear will work the oracle for a second time so he is passed over, along with Feolin who should be watched for signs of confidence on his handicap debut. In an open contest we will return to Hucking Heat.
