MR SKIPITON heads our shortlist here in a lowly but competitive contest, with Realt Na Mara and Stamford Blue also worthy of consideration. Mr Skipiton is towards the top of the weights, but has a good draw and is only up five pounds for winning a similar event recently at Yarmouth. He'll handle the ground without any problems, he seems an improving sort with a good attitude, and has recorded successive wins in the past. Realt Na Mara has only ever won on the all-weather, but that does include a Southwell success, so he'll cope with some cut in the ground. Ron Harris has won this contest a couple of times, and Stamford Blue, although top-weight, looks reasonably treated and has won off a much higher mark. A number of these have course and distance winning form in the locker, including our selection, Mr Skipiton.
