Verdict

A lot of guesswork is involved, as the evidence available would hardly stand up in court; so ART JEWEL is only a speculative choice ahead of Boga and Forget, while it would also be a feasible assumption that Any Day is capable of better than she showed on debut at Lingfield last month. Any Day was well backed on that occasion and, had she not dwelt leaving the starting stalls, she may have reserved more energy for the final furlong. A more accomplished effort can be expected. Forget is by a sire capable of producing winners over a variety of trips. Not many have won over the minimum distance, though. However, she represents the irrepressible Clive Brittain and will no doubt be aimed at the stars if she displays any signs of ability. She may need a lift in the horsebox to be effective at this trip, though. Boga races in the colours of Harry Findlay and friends, so is an obvious one to monitor in the betting. Her stable are sending out a steady stream of winners and this daughter of Invincible Spirit is likely to be another capable of making a bold bid. However, Art Jewel is another likely type on paper and, given this appears to be an easier option than the Newmarket maiden she holds an entry in later this week; first-time up may be the time to side with the Simon Callaghan-trained filly.
