Verdict
PROFOUND BEAUTY has won this for the past two years and will be strongly fancied to complete a hat-trick despite a disappointing defeat by Tactic in the Curragh Cup. Dermot Weld's mare had earlier beaten Age Of Aquarius over this C&D and would be very difficult to beat on that form. Unity steps up to this trip for the first time and could be suited. She looked the winner of the Group 3 Noblesse Stakes over 1m4f at the Curragh last time but didn't show the resolution of the first two. Drumfire is another racing over 1m6f for the first time but he was a regular performer at this level for Mark Johnston and it remains to be seen how he copes from his new base. Shahwardi looked hugely promising in France last year but never really performed when sent to Jeremy Gask though he should get his ground for the first time. The high-class stayer Pointilliste has joined Noel Meade from France and his presence makes this very interesting.
