A tight fillies' handicap in which Andrew Balding's Penzena could return to action with a win, whilst My Best Bet and Poppet's Lovein could provide the main challenges to our selection, OGRE. Ogre had some very respectable performances at Epsom last year and has won a third of the races she has run in. The conditions are to her liking and despite two weak runs recently, may have just been rusty after a break. Interestingly she showed similar form last year and needed a couple of runs to shake the cobwebs away. Although Penzena has not run particularly well in handicaps in the past, a good maiden run last November on the all-weather at Kempton when beating Mainstay by four lengths could translate to better performances after a break. Poppet's Lovein won a handicap last August over 7f and is not ruled out of the picture in this race. My Best Bet has been unlucky in recent races and only just lost out to Very Well Red at Bath when pressing hard. However, our selection is Ogre to score the win.
