Provence sets the standard and Barry Hills filly is fancied to win ahead of Minshar and Duty Doctor. The selection finished third last time out and has run in two decent Newmarket maidens. She has proven herself on ground with some give in and likely to encounter similar conditions today, the daughter of Averti is fancied to win today before going on to better things over further next year. Minshar has been given a 95 day break since her last run when she let down favourite backers at York. The ground was like a bog that day though and it may be that she didn't quite get home over seven furlongs; she drops in trip today. Duty Doctor has run over five and seven furlongs with some success but now tries the middle ground and cannot be ruled out. None of the newcomers really catch the eye although support for Early Autumn might be worth noting, so a more obvious danger may be Monashee Rock. She has shaped with plenty of promise in three starts to date but now drops two furlongs in trip. She looks a real stayer so that might not suit and an official rating of 77 may flatter her somewhat. At a price Cealtra Star may run well but she certainly needs to improve on two runs to date, so whilst Red Amaryllis may appreciate the drop in trip, it is Provence who gets the vote.
