Field Spark has proved a model of consistency this term and gets the nod ahead of Azur and Man The Gate in another tricky contest. Jeremy Glover's charge put up a particularly good effort when narrowly denied by a well handicapped rival at Beverley last month and the form looks solid as the winner followed up off a 5lb higher mark at York next time. The selection has put up two creditable efforts in defeat in slightly better grade since and looks sure to take plenty of beating at this level under the guidance of Darryll Holland. Man The Gate was successful at this track last year and has solid claims if able to reproduce his second in a Newmarket amateurs' event in May but his overall form suggests that he needs more cut in the ground to be fully effective. Azur cannot be discounted if repeating the form of his placed effort at Bath last month but has been below his best of late and still looks a shade high in the weights so Field Spark looks the one to beat in the finale.
