Sweet Gale is the proven performer in the line-up however a chance is taken on handicap debutante MORNING QUEEN. The selection has only had three starts but seems to have improved with each run to date. Her latest run at Bath showed that she is not devoid of pace but the return to six furlongs looks likely to suit and her trainer has a fair record at the track. Top weight Sweet Gale was a winner last time out at Kempton over seven furlongs, building on a good second at Wolverhampton in April. She was taking advantage of a plummeting handicap mark and it will be interesting to see whether she is now a changed horse; if she is, then she can still be competitive off this 6lb higher mark. City For Conquest, Blushing Maid and Dancing Wave all have winning form over this trip, but neither comes here in flying form, so a bigger threat to the selection may be Affirmatively who filled third spot behind Feelin Foxy recently at Lingfield. A tricky start to the card but it may pay to take a flyer on Morning Queen.
