Another pin job beckons, and Poppy's Rose is the most tentative of choices, with Carcinetto, Feelin Foxy, Gimme Some Lovin, Glencal and Tilsworth Charlie all in with claims. There are quite a few last-time out winners in the line-up, but we shall take them all on with Poppy's Rose who caught the eye in defeat when second to Feelin Foxy at Hamilton just over a fortnight ago. Beaten three-parts of a length at the Scottish track, she now meets that rival on 3lb better terms, and should be capable of turning the tables. There are plenty of dangers, not least topweight Carcinetto who will benefit from a strong pace. Gimme Some Lovin scraped home on the all-weather last time and should get the trip on breeding, while Glencal is nothing if not consistent, as is Tilsworth Charlie. All in all, this is a most open affair in which Poppy's Rose is the pick.
