Al Tharib is a very interesting newcomer for Sir Michael Stoute to be introducing at this stage of the season and this son of Silver Hawk is fancied to have the latent ability to get the better of Dijeer and Dubai Twilight, who set the standard from those with experience, while Kirk Michael is worth taking note on for future reference. The last named is related to several winners and, although lacking any fancy entries, can be expected to be placed to good effect by Henry Candy. It will be interesting to see where he goes form here. Dubai Twilight was not beaten far in the Washington Singer Stakes and can be expected to have learned a good deal from the experience. He looks a winner in the waiting and is a definite for the notebook. Dijeer - an expensive purchase - also ran a race full of promise when he finished second to a well regarded type at Ascot in July. The step up in trip is not expected to be a problem for this son of Danzig and (again) it only looks to be a matter of time before he gets off the mark. However, Sir Michael Stoute has to be respected with any newcomers he sends out at this time of year. The Newmarket maestro won this race with a similar type two years ago and, considering this half-brother to Grass Wonder - a champion juvenile in Japan - is entered in everything from a Kempton maiden to next year's Derby it is safe to assume that expectations will be very high for this fellow today.
