This is a tricky race to unravel but GIANT SEQUOIA has more ticks in his boxes compared to his rivals so gets the narrow vote, while both Mr Plod and Bobble Rock are more than capable on their day and deserve respect. The selection is still only lightly raced with five runs for three different trainers to his name. He did not handle the testing conditions at Chepstow on his latest outing and has since changed stable. Jane Chapple-Hyam has a great strike rate with her all weather horses and is sure to have improved this son of Giant's Causeway. Although he is no certainty, this race looks like one of his easiest opportunities to date and is worth staying on the right side of for the time being. Mr Plod had been living up to name until he caught the eye at Ffos Las on his latest outing. He finished third to Arlene Phillips that day, improving for the application of first time visors. He is clearly no world beater but if recapturing that recent form he can once again enter the frame. Bobble Rock showed promise on his first two outings earlier in the year but has disappointed badly in his last three races and should be treated with caution. Giant Sequoia was bred to win better races than this but is worth siding with for his new connections.
