      Verdict

CITY GENT has gone close the last twice now. He steps back up in distance after a third over 5f here and the first two home have both won subsequently. The remainder with racecourse experience have shown little so far though Monadee is expected to finish a lot closer after a modest debut at Doncaster. Of the newcomers, 160,000gns purchase Global Pass is a half-brother to winners on the all-weather and preferred to Darkest Light and Ellen Gates.
