KANDIDATE may not be quite the force of old but he still has plenty of ability and is taken to win this for a second year, while Bronze Cannon is among the dangers. The selection goes particularly well here over this trip and up to 1m 4f. He is rated 5lbs lower than when scoring a year ago but with Clive Brittain in form he should still be good enough to go in again. Bronze Cannon comes from another stable in tremendous form and races over his optimum trip. As a dual course winner he clearly handles this place well and after a recent pipe opener he can go close. Re Barolo has been keeping Listed and Group company of late and he is a thoroughly consistent sort at this level who is also proven over the track. Wherever he finishes then Dansant should not be far away. Gerard Butler's entire loves it here and gets every yard and more of today's trip and is much respected, but Kandidate is the one for us.
