Tanks For That made a successful start to his hurdling career when winning well at Sandown earlier this month and Nicky Henderson's gelding has to be respected in this better contest but he needs to improve on that effort to get the better of KANGAROO COURT, who gets the vote with Lord Generous rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was well held in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle last time but his earlier form makes Emma Lavelle's gelding the pick of the field and a reproduction of his debut effort over timber when running out the easy winner of an event at Doncaster will make him tough to beat. Peter Bowen's Schindlers Son has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated and of more interest may be Rear Gunner, who is improving with each start and was good value for his win at Folkestone on his latest start. Nick Gifford's Wizard of Odds showed fair form in bumpers, made an encouraging debut over timber at Ascot in November and he has to be respected although a bigger threat is likely to come from Lord Generous. Paul Nicholls has quickly switched the son of Generous to hurdles having run in the Champion Bumper on his most recent start and he will be the first runner to test the quality of that event. Kangaroo Court has the best form among those to have raced previously over timber though and he is hard to oppose.
