      Verdict

In the maiden, Spanish Needle is selected ahead of Racing Times and Take To The Skies. Spanish Needle attracted money before his six-furlong Wolverhampton debut and finished a promising third. He should be sharper for that and, with the runner-up having won since to frank the form, he could prove the one to beat today. Buzbury Rings has shown promise at five and seven furlongs so far in his career so today's six might provide the answer. Ginger Pop's best two runs so far have come over course and distance. Obstructive's best run has so far come over today's trip in three runs so could go well. Racing Times has earned a rating in the mid-70s and that rates as more than good enough to be rated a major player here today. Rhapsilian has something to like on breeding but his stable is not noted for first-time out winners. Interestingly, Take To The Skies debuted in a Royal Ascot Group 2 race, where he wasn't disgraced, so he has to be given some serious thought, and Tifernati's debut run was not without promise. Finally, Tracer cost 92,000 guineas and it would be no surprise to see him improve on his first three starts but, for the selection, we return to Spanish Needle.
