In depth

Verdict

Hiddensee is entitled to come on for his run in the Queen's Prize over course and distance but is strictly held by Champagne Shadow on running that day and may have to settle for a minor role behind Gary Moore's five-year-old with The Nawab rated the best of the remainder. The selection went into the Queen's Prize with a fitness advantage over most of his rivals and lost no caste in third place behind Cold Turkey. A reproduction of that effort may suffice. Montosari has gone up 5lbs for his win at Lingfield and has more to do now, while Sirce has yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip and is far from certain to stay. Llamadas, who won here last month, disappointed on a return visit last time and is now probably best watched, while North Lodge has given little cause for optimism in recent starts over hurdles. Of more interest may be The Nawab, who showed progressive form last term but John Dunlop's yard have yet to really hit form so the safest option looks to be Champagne Shadow who gets the vote.
