Crafty Fox has the benefit of a run here previously this season so has the edge on fitness but probably needs to improve to get the better of Escape Clause, who is preferred to Deepwater Bay. The selection made a promising debut in a Newmarket maiden last term and, provided that he is fit enough for his return and the yard of Sir Michael Stoute is now among the winners, then he should be good enough on that evidence. Southport Star ran with credit in his two outings as a juvenile and cannot be discounted, while Titian Dancer looks the pick of the newcomers but is hard to recommend until the Swinburn stable starts to really get going. Deepwater Bay holds more obvious claims having run to a similar level of ability in two starts at two but Escape Clause's form looks the better and he is preferred.
