Verdict

Ganymede disappointed last time out but is given a chance to redeem himself this afternoon, Competitor and High Treason may do best of the others. The selection was last of thirteen at at Wolverhampton in March, following a poor run over hurdles. However his two previous all-weather runs were very encouraging, including a close up third behind Orvietan at Lingfield. On that effort he is very well treated here and he gets a sporting vote. Competitor comes here in winning form having carried a big weight to victory at Lingfield last time. This event is slightly stronger but he should still be capable of making his mark. High Treason returned from a break to easily land a Folkestone handicap earlier this month and he should go close despite a six pound penalty. Pleasant hasn't raced since winning last July and looks the pick of the others, but Ganymede, although a little unreliable, just edges the decision.
