Verdict

VICTORIA SPONGE can see off Strictly and Brenin Taran in a competitive heat. The filly has had a little break since finishing down the field at Newmarket. She had won previously in the past at this track and at the likely odds, we are prepared to row in again. Strictly ran promisingly at Sandown Park though was well held at Bath. Slow starts have not been helpful. Brenin Taran is in form though horrendously drawn. Andrea Atenzi will have to sit and suffer in the hope that a gap emerges late. Comadoir made all to win at Lingfield and is likely to be tried under similar tactics today. Cut The Cackle is gradually coming back to a winning mark and any market confidence should be heeded. Bobs Dreamflight is consistent and appears best of the rest. Plenty of plausible winners but we are sold on Victoria Sponge.
