Verdict
Not much form on display in this maiden but what we have seen of the progressive SAND SKIER has impressed us enough to give Mark Johnston's youngster the vote ahead of Exceedingly Bold, who ran well on debut, while Tatiana Romanova looks just the best of the newcomers. After showing some promise on debut over this trip the pick then put in a better performance when taking on a furlong extra and only finding a potentially useful sort to good. The step back down in trip shouldn't be a worry and we can expect more progress again. Exceedingly Bold was only well held by a subsequent Listed winner on debut. With that run now in the bank we could see more again this time and the softer conditions suit based on his pedigree. Tatiana Romanova is related to winners and should go well as a juvenile as should fellow debutant Excellent Vision. This looks a pretty decent maiden on paper and Sand Skier looks to be heading in the right direction.
