The Bear was on form before an out of character poor run last time and although this race is easier his mark might be a little heavy at the moment so instead we prefer the profile of SUNLEY SOVEREIGN, who is running well at present and Captain Royale isn't weighted out of a challenge either. A good run in a competitive handicap at Ayr on Thursday showed that the pick's current burden is at least competitive and having held his main rival during that last run he should be able to reaffirm those placings. The Bear was on top form before finishing well behind the pick in that Ayr contest. That said he does have a good record here and his jockey can't stop riding winners. Captain Royale ran well in a seller last time and is weighted in the competitive category on his return to these ranks while What A Fella was second best off this mark three starts ago and could challenge again. A tricky race to finish with and we'll just side with Sunley Sovereign.
