Twelve runners go to post for the finale on the Kempton card over nine furlongs for what is a competitive looking event. The consistent Anyhow has been done few favours by the handicapper who has put Andrew Reid's mare up another 2lbs for her latest start at Newmarket. The five-year-old may again have to settle for minor honours. A similar comment could be made about Richard Hannon's Thumper although it is interesting that the gelding is re-united with Pat Eddery, who rode him when winning at Windsor last month. The ex-German trained Scarletti, who has run with credit over hurdles since joining Jonjo O'Neill, is interesting on his British flat racing debut, while the well handicapped Satyr could go well back on a faster surface.
