Richard Hannon's two-year-olds have been in good form all season so Aegean Line is bound to be a popular choice with many backers for the opener on the Kempton card. Not disgraced when an un-fancied third to Big Smoke at Salisbury on her debut earlier this month, she holds solid claims. Of the others to have raced previously the once-raced Pure Speculation is entitled to improve on her green running fifth at Epsom. There are some interesting newcomers in the line up including Soviet Song, a daughter of Marju trained by James Fanshawe who is quite capable of readying a debutante and Ian Balding's Sweet Portia, a cheaply bought daughter of Pennekamp.
