GHAZWAH should prove very tough to beat here and gets the vote ahead of Damietta, while there are some interesting debutants to run the rule over. The selection looked all over the winner at Goodwood last time out before being worried out of it close to home, but that represents smart form in the context of this race. The step up to this trip seemed to suit that day when perhaps she just caught a tartar in Water Biscuit, and from a good draw here she can take advantage. Damietta was another to have run at the Glorious meeting and she made a pleasing debut, for which she looked certain to improve. The step up to 7f can also bring about more positive signs and she can go very well. Elizabelle is coming along steadily and gave the impression at Leicester last time that her first win is not far away, so market support would be interesting. The same can be said of Giant's Play, who is a beautifully bred newcomer trained by Sir Michael Stoute and looks destined for much better that this in time. She's My Rock is another of good pedigree and for who this trip is an ideal starting point, while Nafura may appear to be the Godolphin second string but her bloodlines bear the closest of inspection and she could have a big impact on the outcome. An intriguing contest then and Ghazwah is the one for us.
