Verdict

Marvelino was a big disappointment when sent off favourite for the Brocklesby last Saturday and is presumably thought capable of better. He has something to prove now though and looks worth taking on. The Hannon team have won this a couple of times in recent years so Lyric Ace has to be considered along with Fortinbrass, but breeding suggests Baileys Jubilee may need a longer trip to show her best. HATS OFF is related to seven winners, including the prolific and speedy pair Viewforth and Ivory Lace, and John Best's colt rates the selection as he may well be up to winning at the first time of asking.
