A strong competitive handicap for the prize money on offer can go the way of KING'S EVENT while the sprightly veteran Crossbow Creek and Algarade could give the selection most to think about. King's Event, a lightly raced four-year -old who evidently was slow to come to hand displayed plenty of promise towards the backend of last season. Last time the ground was reported to have been too heavy for him and he was slow to return to the racecourse this season also, only making his seasonal debut in July. He stayed on well there, clearly needing the run and given the exposed profile of the majority of these and the lack of strong recent form, King's Event looks the most likely winner. The return to form of the Mark Rimell yard has seen Crossbow Creek return to winning ways. The slight worry would be that ten furlongs at this venue could be on the sharp side for him while Algarade failed to build on two victories earlier this summer when an expensive failure in a listed event in Germany. She was since disappointing at Great Leighs in a handicap and while it is premature to state the handicapper may have her in his grip, she does now have something to prove. Jeer has dropped down a couple of pounds in the weights while Beauchamp Viceroy, who has not scored since his juvenile days could provide some value for each way supporters. King's Event is the pick to land it.
