Northern Rambler is selected in a weak event to get the better of Sweet Milly and The Masareti Kid. None of these are in good form at present but Northern Rambler showed enough behind Phar From Frosty at Wetherby after a five month break to warrant support here. His previous efforts were mainly on softish ground, but the faster conditions at the Yorkshire track did not seem to bother him and he should take the beating before eventually going chasing. The Masareti Kid has to give weight away all round and was pulled up at Hereford on his last outing two months ago. A dual bumper winner at Hexham last year, the move to Geoff Harker from Venetia Williams may bring about some improvement in his fortunes over the next few weeks. Sweet Milly has yet to open her account and has been off since being pulled up at Perth in June. Son Of Snurge will probably be prominent without being good enough, and for the winner we return to Northern Rambler.
