Verdict

The Peter Montieth-trained Jordan's Ridge has found a new lease of life this term and is fancied to make a bold bid for the hat-tick today. Ballystone and the old-boy Weaver George will make this a true test though and will push the selection all the way in this tight little affair. However, Jordan's Ridge has improved with each outing since being sent over fences and is taken to defy his rising mark with another bold display here. The seven-year-old likes to come from off the pace and is suited by a test of stamina - both of which are attributes that are likely to be seen to good effect in this small field. Pillaging Pict is another who can be expected to be played late and could give the selection a good run for the money. However, as he lacks a recent run he may find Jordan's Ridge to be too confident a rival to overhaul on the day.
