In depth

Verdict

Not a race to be dogmatic about and CHICAGO OUTFIT is the selection in the finale with Flying Feathers and Manitoba as alternatives. A 90 000 guineas purchase at the sales; his family include the useful chaser, Storm Damage. Well backed in a similar event on debut - there was enough there to suggest that he is worth persevering with following a short absence. Flying Feathers is a likeable mare. From the family of Grange Brake, she will make an impact over further. Manitoba has had more experience than most. A couple of placed efforts at Market Rasen help to set the standard. Ten Ace is closely related on the dam side to Grand National regular, Forest Gunner, so one circuit will be plenty short enough! Cherish Witches is related to a number of European flat performers. George Foster has had a good season with his limited team of flat campaigners so the market should be closely watched. Sutton has the services of leading point-to-point rider, Jake Greenall. He is a near relation to the former Peter Beaumont inmate, Beggars Banquet, who was capable of winning in bumpers during his career. Corky Dancer's mother was a really decent hurdler on her day and if any of those genes have been passed through, he could be useful. Chicago Outfit gets the nod.
