Recent winners Wayward Melody and Miss Muscat could fight out the finish here and preference is for the former, Deo Gratis looks the pick of the remainder. The extra distance brought out the best in Wayward Melody last time out when winning on rain softened ground at Newton Abbot. He rarely runs too races alike but if on a going day he should prove hard to beat. Miss Muscat was a clear cut winner at the same track last time on much faster ground. It was a very modest event though and she may have been flattered by the margin of victory. However she still looks the main danger to our selection. Deo Gratis returns from a poor spell over fences and has claims on the pick of his hurdles form. The best of the rest could be Jackies Boy, but a seven pound penalty may not be enough to stop Wayward Melody following up that recent success.
