Aahayson, Compton Fields and Another True Story are the three for the shortlist and we shall stick with Aahayson. Although he made hard work of winning his most recent outing at Musselburgh, Aahayson put up a determined effort to pocket the prize and as he holds entries in a number of high profile races later in the season, it is not out of the question that he could be capable of further improvement. Compton Fields has been a tad unfortunate in recent outings to have met some high quality opposition but he should be staying on at the end after his trademark dawdle from the boxes. Another True Story won well at Windsor but flopped in a subsequent Nursery at Newmarket. Connections had thought of him as a listed performer so the market is watched. Fairfield Princess is dropped in class and can be expected to give a bold sighter from the front. Il Palio has shown some form on genuinely soft going but is bidding to bounce back from a disappointment. Nepos is from a yard in form and could be open to improvement. Plenty of chances held and Aahayson is given the nod.

Aahayson 6-4fav (9-0) In touch, ridden over 2f out, every chance entering final furlong, kept on to lead close home, won at Musselburgh 5f 2yo hcp (4) gf beating Mazin Lady (7-13) by a hd, 6 ran.
