Stand By Me is preferred to Uno and Mumaathel. Michael Jarvis's representative is related to a number of previous winners and as he is a son of Tomba, he would not be inconvenienced by any inclement weather. Uno has had a number of chances and sets the benchmark of 79. In fairness, she has ran against some decent types in the past but the bookmakers are sure to put her in at a short price and from a value perspective, there are likely to be better options elsewhere. Mumaathel has burnt the fingers of backers on four occasions and the latest line of form has not worked out. Brigydon tired rapidly on debut at Wolverhampton but that was a much better maiden that it first appeared so a cursory note is made of his progress in the betting. King's Spear was easy to back on debut at Newmarket and has had time off since. Woodcote Place has become expensive to follow. Stand By Me looks a likely sort on breeding and is the nomination.
