QALINAS looked all over the winner at Sandown nine days ago but weakened close home and was overhauled by Kadouchski. It was harsh of the handicapper to put the four-year-old up 3lb for that effort but he'll be suited by this easier track and should make a bold bid to go one better. If I Had Him is only a plater nowadays but there are possibilities about the lightly-raced Ubi Ace, whose third to Aikman over 2m4f at Musselburgh looks better now than it did at the time. Remarkably, Wester Ross has finished second on all four previous runs over this C&D so he's another to consider as he didn't appear to get home over 2m6f at Wincanton last time.
