Verdict

EIGHTEEN CARAT probably didn't stay the 3m2f at Catterick on his return from a three month break last month. He'd won over today's trip at Aintree in November and Donald McCain's charge looks capable of adding to that success in this company. Malin Bay had been steadily improving before unseating his rider at Ayr on his latest start and can figure with a clean round, while Cloudy Too posted a better effort over C&D recently and should go well again. Skybull is a half-brother to a winner over hurdles and is worth noting on his debut.
