In depth

Verdict

FIRST IN THE QUEUE would almost certainly have been placed on his hurdling debut at Taunton had he not been brought down at the last. That was a pleasing introduction and, providing he hasn't been soured by the experience, Nicky Henderson's four-year-old can get off the mark here. Robin De Creuse has already been placed here and at Cheltenham and should be thereabouts again while Fontano may not have stayed the longer trip at Ascot last time and is worth another chance to build on his debut fourth at Exeter. Archie Rice was highly tried on his debut at Newbury and may be the pick of the remainder.
