In depth

Verdict

Plenty to consider in a race full of unexposed maiden winners with a speculative vote going to OUT AND ABOUT. He beat a subsequent winner over today’s trip at Redcar in October and Ryan Moore’s presence suggests he’ll be fully primed for this. Golden Glimmer won easily at Chester recently and Showing Off made a winning return at Goodwood. Maximian and Irish Optimism won their maidens over 6f and Captain Dion also steps up in distance after going close in a handicap at Pontefract. Fighting Temeraire and Red Artist are more exposed but still have a shout.
