Verdict

No favourite has obliged since 2006 and this is no less competitive. A couple of these are bidding to land four-timers but Ice Slice is upped in class off a higher mark and CLOTILDE is preferred. The latter scored with a bit to spare in this grade at Windsor last time and Ryan Moore was on board when she won at Lingfield earlier. Steel Train drops in class after going close at Ripon and Frankie partners Strong Steps for the first time after the latter ran well at Newbury. Rousayan saves his best for Beverley and is upped 7lb for winning at the latter track while Ghinia, Captain Revelation and Ski Blast all went close on their latest starts. The jury is out on Important Point as he made a winning debut last year but finished nearer last at Kempton on his reappearance.
