In depth

Verdict

Celtic Artisan runs over hurdles for the first time since last May but has been busy on the all-weather, winning at Chelmsford last month. Archipeligo won on Tapeta in January and has hinted at ability over jumps while the four-year-old Three Colours Red remains unexposed over hurdles. Back By Midnight is still 12lb higher than when successful at Uttoxeter in the autumn but was third at Warwick two runs ago. BEATU has to concede weight all round but his third at Catterick earlier this month is working out well with the winner just beaten at Uttoxeter on Saturday off a mark of 116 – he gets the nod on that basis.
