Overwing took a similar contest at Leicester last week and can follow up here from a 7lb higher mark, while Lambency, Misphire and Metal Guru are all respected. The selection ran on strongly to beat Gap Princess with more in hand than the official two length margin suggested and this trip looks ideal. She acts on any ground and looks as though there is more to come here against her own sex. Lambency has conditions and trip to suit but has won just once from 29 career starts and has proved expensive to follow. Nonetheless, Jim Goldie's mare can be competitive from this mark of 55. Misphire represents an in-form yard but would probably need a fair bit of rain to be seen to best effect and if there is a drop from the skies then she'd have a chance from this mark. Metal Guru won a Beverley fillies' handicap last time and conversely would not want any more rain as she likes it quick underfoot. If it stays dry then from a 5lb higher mark we'd have to take her seriously again. Royal Grace won on good to soft in maiden company earlier in the month and can take this step back up in trip in her stride. She gets in off a mark of 65 and looks a likely challenger but for today we prefer the claims of Overwing.
