The unexposed Charlie Cool gets the nod over Count Trevisio and the bang-in-form Wind Star. The last named has been in flying form lately, having won his last two starts in good style. He has more to do in this company and, although respected, he has a stiff test under his 6lb penalty. Count Trevisio has also got his act together well and proved that he has trained on with a couple of decent effort so far this term. However, top weight leaves him vulnerable today and it will take a god effort from the Godolphin horse to repel the rest. Therefore, he is one to be cautious about at the likely odds. Leningrad had been mooted for the Derby at one stage and his sights have been considerably lower after a couple of heavy defeats in good company. He does possess ability though and is also worth noting in the betting. However, the value lays with Charlie Cool, who is fancied to relish the fast ground and can give us a solid run at a fair price.
