Clive Cox has enjoyed a good spell of late and has another leading player in the shape of Mason Ette, who is selected ahead of Fishforcompliments and Smokey Oakey, while the Barry Hills-trained pair Aegis and Sir Sandicliffe are also worth noting in the betting. The last named should have benefited from his debut run at Leicester and a more accomplished performance can be anticipated this afternoon. However, Aegis would appear to be the better of Hills' duo at this stage and he rates as the more solid option for each-way punters to consider. Smokey Oakey posted an improved effort at Lingfield and, despite this being a much more open contest, it will be disappointing for his connections if he cannot make his presence known today. Fishforcompliments didn't enjoy the cleanest of passages on his debut but is another that can only have derived benefit from the experience. He appears to be going the right way and a betting move would be dangerous to ignore. However, preference is given to Mason Ette, who was a real eye-catcher in defeat last time. Phillip Robinson takes the reins once more and it will come as no surprise to see the partnership make this third visit to a racecourse together be a very profitable one for all concerned with this daughter of Grand Lodge.
