It can be worth taking a chance on Night In finding the sufficient improvement required to repel Kansas City and Hotham, while Falmassim heads the list of alternatives that can scrap it out as the best of the rest. Falmassim showed grim determination when won his maiden at Windsor but was a huge let down the next time he raced. His rider said he was never travelling on the Polytrack at Lingfield and failed to land a blow as a result. He obviously has his quirks but can take a hand at this level if he consents to run anywhere near his best. Hotham won in spite of fast ground at Beverley and was then far from disgraced in a similar heat at Redcar last time. His limitations are there for all to see but he should not be underestimated in an ordinary contest like this. Kansas City is sure to be a popular choice after a deserved success at Salisbury last month. Willie Muir's charge is going the right way and appeals as the most likely candidate to spoil the party for the selection. However, Night In rates as the better value option and, having given a potentially useful type a good run for the money at York, the son of Night Shift is fancied to relish this easier grade of competition.
