      Verdict

      Olimpo has shown much improved form of late and has to be respected but Rod Millman's gelding may now be a shade high in the weights and preference is for Mirthful, with Riguez Dancer rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has shown progressive form this term, prior to disappointing on what was probably unsuitably soft ground at Newmarket last month. The return to a faster surface today may help the Barry Hills-trained filly who is taken to resume winning ways. Bajan Parkes ran better at Warwick last time and it now seems that he does stay this far so Eric Alston's gelding has to be respected, as does Marcus Tregoning's Ravenna, although there is a belief that he may now be too high in the weights. Sforzando and Sadler's Kingdom are others to consider although a bigger threat may come from recent Ripon winner Riguez Dancer. Mirthful has solid claims though and, on ground that suits, he looks the one they all have to beat.
