Blinkers may eek out some improvement from the proven soft-ground horse Abayaan however RED FAMA has his favoured conditions for the first time in a while and he is chanced ahead of Beat The Shower. Neville Bycroft's gelding made his comeback in a strong York handicap and wasn't disgraced in midfield. He has been dropped 4lbs in the handicap for that effort which seems fair and now stepped back up in trip on soft ground he looks sure to run well. Arab League is consistent and this strong-stayer should run his race; he has placed form at the track and although high enough in the weights he is not discounted easily. Royal Trooper drops in grade and although he hasn't won since last November he has (in general) held his form well. Blue Nymph is still unexposed for her new yard and she remains capable of better off a tasty mark, Puy D'Arnac needs a market check on this return to the flat, whilst Ubi Ace showed a cracking attitude when successful at Ripon and if he lasts home over this longer trip then he won't be far away. Top-weight Abayaan looks a big danger with Shane Kelly back on board; blinkers are tried and having run well here before the feeling is that he will again. The in-form Beat The Shower is adaptable in regard to ground conditions so is not one to take lightly off his nice racing weight, however the vote of confidence goes to Red Fama.
