Mark Johnston's Alanbrooke has been running consistently well of late and has to be respected but the softer ground today may not be to his advantage and a better bet looks to be stable companion YES MR PRESIDENT, who gets the vote ahead of Hits Only Vic. The last mentioned has shot up in the weights over the last two seasons and has maintained his form well but he has a career high mark to overcome today and may struggle to give weight away all round. Conquisto may similarly be a shade high in the weights but cannot be discounted, while Andrew Balding's three-year-old Chiberta King faces no easy task against some more experienced rivals on ground that may be softer than ideal. The Michael Jarvis-trained Kings Destiny is another three-year-old with claims and was good value for his win at Ripon last time but an 8lb rise for that seems harsh. Paul Cole's Precision Break has claims on the pick of his form but that is on a faster surface and preference is for Yes Mr President. Mark Johnston's gelding is a confirmed soft ground performer, has no problems with the trip and has been running well of late so is taken to gain what would be a deserved success.
