Cause Celebre should get favourite backers off to a winning start here with Admiral and Modesta the two most likely to chase him home. This filly from the Barry Hills yard looks potentially well treated on her handicap debut after showing a terrific attitude to defeat Charleston in a maiden at Bath last time. Admiral did not look the most straightforward when defeating Watamu at Goodwood last time but this colt clearly has plenty of ability and could push our selection all the way. Modesta is a half-sister to Oaks winner Reams Of Verse and she showed plenty of promise when getting the better of New Morning at Yarmouth last time. Of the remainder, Dallool is a course and distance winner and has got obvious claims, but for the winner we return to Cause Celebre.
