The John Hills-trained Dancing Lyra holds solid claims on the bare evidence of his second to Gatwick at Goodwood last month, but the handicapper has raised the son of Alzao 3lbs for that and he may not be able to give weight away all round, so preference is for Mark Johnston's Master Marvel, who gets the vote over Mystical Girl. The last mentioned is more exposed than most of these but is holding her form well, however, stablemate Master Marvel has plenty going for him. The son of Selkirk made a winning start to his career in handicaps when successful at Newmarket last month, giving the indication that there would be more to come over today's longer trip, which should offset the 7lb rise in the weights. There are plenty of other unexposed rival sin opposition including Sir Michael Stoute's York third Lord Mayor, the Peter Harris-trained Alekhine and Over The Rainbow from the stable of Barry Hills. The booking of Richard Hughes for Gary Moore's Prime Powered takes the eye and he is another worthy of a mention, along with another of Mark Johnston's representatives Fort. However, stablemate Master Marvel holds solid claims and gets the vote.
