    Verdict

This interesting Listed contest can go to The Geezer, with his biggest danger seen as Eraser. Runner-up in the Dante, disappointing in the Derby, but then a good third in the King Edward VII Stakes, The Geezer stands out here and, if he is anywhere near his best, should gain a much-deserved win. That said, the lightly-raced Eraser, who was considered good enough to run in the French Derby last time, has shown a decent level of form and rates a danger. A leap in improvement is going to be needed by the others, the best of them possibly being Hearthstead Wings, who was fifth in the Queen's Vase last time. Overall, though, the vote stays with The Geezer.
